At post 5 minutes. Start fair. Won driving and out to the laBt ounce ; the next four were also under keen pressure. Sim W. was handicapped to some extent by the cuppy condition of the track and barely lasted long enough to win. Knight rode a well judged race on the winner. Miss Shanley ran rather more gamely than usual aud would have won in a few more strides. Carl C. ran the best race of the lot. He was slow to get to going but through I he stretch finished with a tremendous rush and is in winning form. Rival Dare ran her usual good honest race. Free hand broke Hying and showed a fine burst of speed but tired in the stretch. L. T. Caton could not seemiugly run fast enough to keep warm. Neither could Heigh Ho. who had a bad attack of the slows. At post 5 minutes. Start fair. Won handily at the end after a terrific , drive early. Miss Bennett had the hardest race of her career. She was giving away a lot of , weight and the track conditions were against her. At the eighth post it seemed that Money , Muss would win. but Miss Bennett hung on like a leech and made Money Muss quit. The latter , Bhowed dazzling speed and ran a high class race. Buchanan hit Money Muse over the head with , his whip several times in the stretch. There was no action behind the first two. and the field , wae badly strung out all the way. Bangle seemed to sulk in the first part of the race and never started to run at full speed until the three furlong post was reached. Then he closed ground rapidly, and luckily getting through on the inside, thereby saving much ground, he eventually won without an effort. Wax showed plenty of speed and ran to his best form. Nobleman had no mischances aud did his best. The other two were beaten off all the way. Both Bangle and Clay Poynter pulled up lame. Bangle, place. 1 to 10 ; show. out. Wax, place, 6 to 5; show, out. Start fair for all but Tulla Fonso who refused to break. Won driving; second whipped out : third and fourth were driving to the limit. Maggie Davis got away flying, tool, ihe shortest route, but was tiring badly at the end and could not have lasted much longer. Honey Boj got away in a tangle aud never really got straightened out until the ttretch was reached, then he made a strong bid but hung a trifle at the end. Georgie improves with every race and will be hard to beat from now on. Josephine B. ran a smashing good race from a poor beginning. Neither Harry Duke nor Sly seems to be of much present account. Tulla Fonso was given several chance.- but simply would not break. Scratched— 19933 Heigh Ho, 102. Overweights— Harry Duke, 2 pounds: Josephine B.. 24. Maggie Davis, place. 2 to 1 ; show, evens. Branch showed the most speed, liked the going and was well rated in front. He 1 a shifts -elliug plat it and was backed for a "good thing" in this race. Blue Lick did his best :md had no excuses. The same applies to Papa Harry, who was a very t ired horse at the end. The Devil made up inite a lot of ground in the stretch. Lew Hopper showed but little bpeed.
