He was under the whip for the last three-eighths. Prejudice easily led her field all the way in the stretch, but Murphy lost the race by easing up at the head of the stretch and never saw Compensation until he was at Prejudices bead. Then Bullman outrode him in the final drive. Prejudice ought to have won easily. Murphy was suspended for six days. Burns took matters easy on Precursor to the stretch. Bangor tired himself out trying to catch Prejudice. Protus showed a lot of speed to the stretch and then quit badly. Scratched— l9861Radford, 98. Compensation, place, evens; show, 1 to 3. Far Rock.tway wa: much the best, although he was all out at the end. The start was a very bad one, as the held was strung out for almost a sixteenth. As the race was run Gold Heels should have won. Gold Heels swerved a trifle when OConnor struck him. In Shot beat the flag and this is -what enabled her to be third. She showed fine speed early, but tired. Scurry was doing his best all the way. Luke Ward had no chance when the flag fell and Turner did not try hard after passing the three-eighths post. Sandpiper is not of much account. Scratched— 19888 Drogheda, 106.
