He was always running easily after passing the-half mile post, where Favonius quit. Radford ran a good race, but Favonins should have been second. He swerved badly under the whip in the last furlong. Alard Scheck could have won if Burns had so desired. He was under a restraining pull all the way. Lady Schorr was the best of the others but was doing her best all the way. Toe Musketeer seemed dangerous in the last furlong, but tired. Burns moved up close, then when Lady Schorr drew away took another wrap. Tammany Chief was outrun in the first part of the race but closed strongly. Maximus. like the rest of Hildreths horses, is off. Rivenoak was outrun all the way. He was under the whip all through the last quarter and just got up in time. Lady Contrary should have won. She had the race cinched, but Henry went to sleep near the finish and never saw Cyrano apparently, as he made no move. Gala Day can do better. He got off well, but was taken back. Loiter ran the best race. While at the po=t he ran away a quarter in a break, then ran a furlong and ran away several times for short distances. He showed much speed to the last furlong and then tired. Terrorist, off ninth, gradually improved his position and ran a good race. Cupidity broke down. Scratched— 19858 J. H.
