in the first furlong but recovered and boat his field decisively King Pepper also ran a notable race He displayed a grand barst of speed in disposing of Isia in the first half and finished resolutely Isias fit condition enabled him to beat out his half brother Isidor in a driving finish for third money Isidor ran palpably short and made his bid in the nature of a fast move in the stretch but died away in the last furlong Frankfort was very green while at the post and he bolted at the start losing whatever chance ho may havo had Ho showed a fine burst of speed in the middle half running up to good Won driving second easily Hesper ran a good race but was put to his utmost effort to win and his success was chiefly due to tho superb handling ho received At the weights Petra II was best and showed form of high order in this race The Chamberlain finished fast and ran what was probably the best race of his career Nones must be above the average to put up such a good race at his first out He was compelled to so wide on tha turn Buffoon and Dolando ran consistently Uopr failed to show either speed or staying ability today and his race cannot be his true form Pupil was unable to keep stretch hung on gamely and must bo accounted a highclass fouryearold All Green closed an immenss gap and had a stormy journey He was undoubtedly the best horse in the race today probably due in a great measure to his seasoned condition This race stamps him as in the first rank of the threeyearolds Sidney Lucas also showed rare form Brigadier had no mischances and was well handled throughout He appeared to be tha chief contender at the head of the stretch but quailed preceptibly under hard punishment Star Bright is one of the grandest appearing horses ever seen in the country He seemed high
