FAVORITFS OVERTHROWN OVERTHROWNHarlem Harlem is surely having its share of ideal racing weather yesterday although slightly warmer than it has been for some days being no exception to the rule The card was a good one for an off day and some excellent racing was witneseod by the utuel largo gathering present Six Shooter was asked to concede a lot of weight to three other three yearolds in the fourth race bnt failed dismally at the end finishing a poor third The race was tsken in rather a batdy fashion by Trinity Bell which went into the lead after the first quarter had been rnn and easily remained there to the end winning by a length from the fast closing Fly ¬ ing Torpedo which beat the distressed Six Shooter five lecgtbs for second place Six Shooter was ridden hard for tbo entire route but v as a well beaten horse long before the stretch bad been rpcched Illlonon ran wall for a half mile atd thf n fell away beaten beatenBuinie Buinie fiunton after her sensational raco with Miss Bennett seemed to be the best in the second race a dash of sis furlongs The fleet flljy jrsn tip to expectations and fairly ran away from hrr field Off second to a rather straggling start ehe passed The Bush as if he was tied leading at the quarter by a length and a half with The Buth a heed before Headwater with Vnlcain clow in getting into his stride bringing up the rear Ehe kept increasing her lead as i she ejun along toward the rnn in straightening I for home four lengths before Headwater he being three lengths before Vulcain Without shewing the least sign cf stopping she swept down the ttietch running well within her capacity and simply cantered home two lengths in front of Headwater which beat Vnlcain three fcr second place The Rnsh although off with a rnnnirg start ran well for a quarter quarteronlyjand onlyjand showed that he was far short of a good race raceFilcnldOr FilcnldOr en bis recent easy victories in the infield v as tbongbt to have a mortgage on the B terplfchasp bnt he failed to run up to expec ¬ tations succumbing to Donation which outran him through the entire course winning easily at the end by three lengths with Filon dOr twelvelbt fore Flaccns Only three contested in t he etee plccbuso and all fenced cleanly Filon dOr closed up on the winner after taking the last jump but Donation drew away from him without any trouble He was in locept of 23 pounds firm Film dOr which ran a good race when all things have been taken into consider ¬ ation ationTho Tho fifth race a dash of five furlongs for yourgster was productive of the best finish of the day Ithtar winning from Julia Juukiuby a head on the post with Doreen close up Julia Junkin was conceding Eoven pounds to Ishtar and ran a smashing good race showing herself to be more than an ordinary youngster To a good start she shot to the front closely followed by Ishtar and Sweet Billie with the rest of tho field cloee pp Julia Junkin held her advantage to the last sixteenth where Isbtar closed up and in a dingdong finish she was beateu in the doting stride Doreen was slightly cat off by the two leaders in the last few strides or she might have been closer up Marque ran a fair race clositg fast in the last eighth after mak ¬ ing up seme ground The others were never in the hunt huntThe The days opener went to Mabel Winn long overdue OS in front she ran away from her field for the first fear and a half furlongs and then began to tiro but hor early advantage tnodlher in good stesd and she had enough left to stall off Approveds determined bid at the end winning all out by a half length with Approved two and a half in front of Santa Tereea Approved was somewhat slow about getting into his stride bnt was moving fast in the last siztaenth and might have won with better racing luck Lapidne bucked for a good thing showed no high speed at any part of the race and was never a contender He can and should do better as he has a rare turn of speed which he has displayed in several of bis races hereabouts Parnassus ran well for a half and then faded away The Stewardess showed a surprising turn of speed for four and a half furlongs As bad a lot as could bo founed anywhere lined up to the barrier in the last race The talent picked on Frank Ireland but tho winner turned up in Mies Liza which had run a fair raco to Banish tho night before She came from away back at the head of the stretch and finished with a rush boating the tiring Zaca toso by n length going away with the lattor a loogth before Frank Ireland spent to the last
