It was a falsely run race; Clarena won by virtue of Dales assurance that Fugurtha could not be beaten. Lindsay kept at Clarena while Dale seemingly forgot that he was in a race. When ho saw he was in danger he lost his wits, snatched Fugurtha across the track and let him sprawl badly, He was easily best. Clarena ran in improved form. Wy Ap Per ran to the mark. Won handily, but ail out ; second and third driving. Charles E. Billingsly was lucky and well ridden, but was probably only fourth best. Warren Point should have won as it was run, but had a weak finisher on him. Teucer ran his race. TempBe was next beBt to Hengist but was pulled up at the start and poorly handled. Hengist was probably best, but Powell jerked him up at the start and ran him into exhaustion in the first half, then jammed him into a pocket and quit riding. Scratched-27919 ABoka, 102. Went to post at 3:28. At poBt 6 minutes. Start good. Won cleverly : second easily. Dale can eet much more out of Sambo than any other jockey who has ridden him here. He is a heavy-headed colt and needB a strong rider. He came very strong in the stretch and won going away. Talrm ran a good race but seemed to be a bit short. Harry Bhafer did Mb best but the early faBt uace was too much for him. W. L. George maintained his speed longer than he usually does and is much improved. Lynch is not up to the distance. Lillian M. is not in her beBt form. Maria Elena probably needs a few races to fit her. Sambo, show, 3 to 5. Talpa, show, 1 to 2. Harry Bhafer, show, 1 to 2. FOURTH RACK 3-4 Mile. When at the three eighths the loaders weakened and Monograph ran away with it and wbb a very fresh horse at the end. It was a great race for him, the mile being better than 1:40 for Monograph. Peaceful had no mishaps, was well ridden and did his beEt. Ida Ledford ran a good race and finished very strongly. Cyranos legs are very sore, but he ran a good race. Prosper La Gai, under a weak ride, ran.a stout, unaided race. Meddlesome and Miss Mae Day ran their races in front.
