Master Mariner, off with a rnnning start, easily maintained the lead to the end and ran a nigh-class race. Ranco showed improvement and was the best of the others. Alee was tiring at tha end and would have lost third place to King DelliB in another stride. Goal Runner could never get up at any part of the race and ran below his true form. Andes was possibly short and the race should about put him on keen edge. Crinkle showed early speed. Emma R. as usual showed plenty of speed, but could not maintain it far enough. Jack Rattiin was tiring fast in tbf last sixteenth. His best race is at four and a half furlongs. I. Samelson ran below expectations. He does not appear to relish weight. Evening Star quit badly the last eighth. Sha has possibly gone back somewhat. Ishtar showed but little spaed at any part of the race. 8cratched-27915LandBeer, 107: 25489 John A. Odnor ran the best race of his career. Strangest appeared like he had him in the closing strides, but he showed great gameneBB and would not be denied. Strangest finished stoutly, but the winner was just a trifle too good for him. Star Chamber seamed to have a chance on the inBide rail in the last eighth, but hung a trifle in the last fifty yards. Leo Newell tired in the last sixteenth. Malay was wedged in between Strangest and Leo Newell in the last eighth and Sullivan could not use his whip. It hardly made any difference in the result at that. Odnor, show, 1 to 2. Strangest, show, evens. Star Chamber, show, 1 to 2. Lao Newell, show, 1 to 3. Malay, show, 1 to 4. 10"Wfcl FIFTH RACE l mile. Espionage was let off with a flying start and the result was never afterward in doubt. Bearcher ran a good, game race, but the early advantage Espionage had received was too much for him to overcome and he had to be content with second place. Synia ran well for a half mile and then gradually fell away. Gawaine had enough after running the first quarter. He can do much better and the race should be thrown out in future calculations. The field was well strung out after the firBt quarter had been run. The race was a very fast one, three-fifths of a second having been chipped off the track record.
