At post 3 minutes. Start good. Won handily; secoudldriving. Knight of the Garter was bumped on the first turn but recovered and picked up his field in the next half and came away 6trongly in the stretch. Astor was lucky throughout and ran a gam race. Alsike, favored by the cuppy going, closed a big gap from a bad break and is improving steadily. Fataliet also made up a lot of grouna. Satire had no chance with the ride and can do bettor. Alard Hcheck showed apeed for Bix furlongB but tired unaccountably in the stretch and is palpably out of.form. Bcratched -28615 Barbetto, 93. Overweights Littlo Daisy, o pounds; Pincher, 1. Feme Sole af .er a sharp drive caught and passed The Pride of Surrey in the stretch and appeared like winning easily but only just lasted long enough to get the verdict from the grand looking Bessie .McCarthy. The latter, after being outrun by many lengths in the first half, closed up like a whirlwind at the end and is evidently a superior class filly over a distance of ground. The Pride of Surrey ran well to the strotch. Oclawaha and Francois were outclassed. Bcratched 28593 Flora Pomona, 112; 28230 Barouche, 99; 28403 FonBoluca, 96. Overweights Feme Sole, 5 pounds. Winner B. c, by Autocrat Silverlight. Went to post at 3:25. At post 2 minutes. Start good. Won easily ; second driving. Auto-light, pinched and pulled up at tho start, gradually made up the ten lengths lost and caught the leaders on the stretch turn, after which his victory appeared certain, OConnor riding supremely a confident appearing race on him in the last quarter. He is a marvelously improvad colt and was much the beat today at the woighta. He, however, was vastly benefited by the others racing the first half tremendously fast. The Regent was the first to crack and Blues soon, after followed suit, and Dublin, passing them in tho stretch, was himself easily disposed of by the winner, but ran in much improved form. Blues was undoubtedly short and will probably reverse thia running -when he meets Dublin again. The Regent is a 20 par cent, better horse under light weight. Anna Darling was favored by the cuppy going and is in extra good form for her. She made up a lot of ground and finished well. Irene Lindsey is a pronounced quitter.
