WORTHS PROGRAM BOOS. The program book for the Worth Jockey Clubs first nine days racing has beon issued and shows an intention on tho part of the club to give high-class racing and to bring tho bettor class of liorsts together. Baces over a distance of ground are features of the book, while an endeavor has been made to bring the best of tho two-year olds together at distances ranging from five furlonas to nne mile. The Worth October Handicap, ,000 added, one mile, will bo the chief offering of the opun-ing day. October 10. Three other races of 5500 each are offered and two of 00 each, composing tho first days racing. Over J26.0C0 will be distributed during the firBt nine days. On Saturday the Illinois Handicap, ,000 added, ono mile and an eighth, will bring together the good class of handicap horses now racing here Purses and handicaps of 00, 00, 00, 00 and 00 are numerous through the book up to Saturday, October 19, when tho Blue Island Handicap, ,000 added, one mile and a quarter, is featured, with a 00 purse for good two-year-olds at a distance of one mile. A 00 mile and a half race will also add to the attractiveness of the card for the day. The program has pleased horsemen and they are now beginning to move over to the Worth track. Secretary Hiller said yesterday: "There will be great racing at Worth, and it will be a fitting close to the greatest racing season tho State of Illinois ever saw. I have had assurances from horsemen that they will race their best horses at Worth, many of which have beon resting up for some time, and with good weather Worth will givo fifteen days of high class racing." President John Powers, Treasurer, W. J. OBrien, Manager, J. E. Wagner, Presiding Judge, M. N. Macfarlan and Secretary Hiller spent Wednesday at the Worth track and all expressed satisfaction with the appearance and condition of the track and its surroundings.
