He trailed McAddie, which ran the first six farlongs under a choking pull, and then went past him in a stride or two. McAddie is probably best at sprinting distance. Rafaello appeared big and high in flesh and palpably lacked in condition. He has always shown high-clasa form on this track and especially favors soft going. Scratched 28613 Kamara, 118. He is a high-class two-year-old. and is steadily improving. Yankee disliked the down hill course, but was going strongly at the end. Whiskey King raced with the winner from the start and ran a grand race. Baron finished fast. Pentecost, Masterman and Flywheel were closing up strongly in the laBt furlong. Redpath ran woll and finished fast. King Pepper was lucky and ran in improved form. Smoke quit at the end. The MuBketeer is quite sore and will not show his best form except on a heavy track. Hernando moved np to -the leaders with a fine burst of speed on the stretch turn but failed to stick at the then accelerated pace. Black Dick ran prominently for a mile and a fur-Jong but was outclassed. Scratched 28132Trigger, 105. No show betting.
