Oakling showed a fine burst of early speed, soon got clear and afterwards had no trouble. Maxille "began slowly, took the long way and finished strongly. She was very sore in front. Aules was well ridden and ran a stroDg race. Mr. Timberlake had no mishaps. Leviathan was poorly handled and can do better. Florrie S. can beat this lot with a good rider up. Jake Weber was taken the short way and came up next to the rail under extremely hard pressure. He .stumbled when thirty yards from the wire or he would have won further off. Ciales ran a very good race and might have won with a keener ride. Nearest, almost left at the post, ran as if sore until they struck the mud made by the sprinkling carta, and in the last sixteenth she overhauled the field very fast, and would have won in another stride or two.
