Curtsey finished fast. lex-ington Pirate could not stand the pace and quit. Tho race should improve Brisk, which was none too well ridden. Tour was in several pockots andhis race should be thrown out. Wellesley was shut out at the start. Sinecure showed speed, but quit when hard pressed. Augury showed early ereed. Thoth did not run to hor form. The last three were crcwded cut at the start. Garter Ban dio fairly well and with a more vigorcue ride would have been closer up. Hawk showed early Bpeed and improves with each race. Carlovingian will bear watching. Tho race was run to suit Alfred Vargrave, tbe hot pace wearing out Potente and leaving Ohnet nothing to finish with when Alfred Vargrave challenged. The latter is a good stretch runner and finished m his usual game manner, but was all out at the ond. Ohnet waB best, but was ridden with poor judgment. Potente was overweighted.
