1 1 j 1 . 3 3 1 i I , I MEMPHIS PROGRAM. Memphis, Tenn., December 10 The spring meeting of the New Memphis Jockey Club will open March 31, and continue twenty-one days, closing April 23. The majority of purses will be 00, 00 and 00. At least two jumping races a week will be given with no purse of less than C0, Ten stakes will be opened as follows : Five stakes for coming two-year olds, foals of 1900. The TennoBsee Derby for 1933, 1 1-8 miles, ,000 added ; Tennessee Oaks for 1903, 1 mile, ,500 added; Gaston Hotel Stakes, two-year olds and geldings, 1-2 mile, ,000 added; Ar-delle Stakes, two-year-old fillies, 1-2 mile, ,000 added. Memphis Stakes, two-year-olds, 5-8 mile ,000 added; Hotel GayoBO Stakes, three-year olds, 1 mile, ,000 added. Four stakes for three-year-olds and upward are offered as follows : The Montgomery Handicap, ,000 added, 1-16 miles. The Peabody Hotel Handicap, ,000 added. 1-8 miles. , The Tennessee Brewing Co. Selling Stakes, ,000 added, 7 8 mile. The Cotton Steeplechase Handicap, ,030,, added, about 2 miles. The Cotton Steeplechase has been increased in valne from 00 added to ,000 added. The Hotel Gayoso Stakes will bs decided ths latter part of the meeting and will afford a fine trial for the Eentucky Derby, aB the winner of this stake will not get a penalty in the Eentucky Derby. Declaration in the Tennessee Derby and Tennessee Oaks, that closed January 1, 1901, are due January 1, 1902.
