Lizalla under a masterly ride was waited with, with a lot in risorve and when called on in tho stretch turn moved to tba front with a wonderful bnrst of speed and is of a suparior class over distance. Hortmwas pnorly handled and next to the rail to the stretch whera he was impeded and com palled to finish on the outside wharo he came fast and gamely. Herculean, under a choking pnll oarly, made a fast and apparently winning move into the lead on the far : turn, "but it probably cost him second place, as he was a good horse tbday. Artilla ran honestly, bnt was probably a trifla outclassed. Obia was under mild pressure almost from the start and never appeared to have a chanca, although she was prominent until the real racing commenced. Galanthus made the pace on snffaranc. She came out of close quarters at the end of six furlongs, after soma interference and responded remarkably well to a whipping finish through the entire Btretch, passing Varro only in the last hundred yards. The lattar showed brilliant spied and stamina and is in great form. Roaormonde finished fast on the outside. Autolight was at a great disadvantage in the big field, bsing crowded on the first turn and unable to gt through on tha stretch tarn except on the rail where ha was tepeatedly palled up by reason of a horse stopping in front of him. He would probably have won with clear sailing. Beau Ormonde went well throughout, El Rio Shannon showed surprising improvement. Doublet is not a stayer. Bernota and Eina Brown wore outclassed.
