STAKES FOB HAWTHORNE. The Chicago Jockey Club has announced its list of stakes to be run during the spring and summer meetings of 1S02 at the Hawthorne course, entries to which will cIoeo on February 4. There are twelve Etakes in all, five for two-year-olds, two for thrceyear-oldB and five for three-year-olds and upward, with distances rsDging fxcm five furlonge to two miles, and to which are added a total of 5,0C0. The stakes are the Bamo in number and practically the same in conditions as were the stakes run at the sprirjg and Bummer meetings of 1E01; the most noticeable changes being the omissions from all handicaps of the clause requiring the naming of Btartera the day before the race, and the increase in the distance of the Frairie Stakes from one mile to two miles. The principal stakes are the Northern, a handicap for three-year-olds and upward, at a mile and a quarter, with , COO added, and the Monadnock, a handicap for three-year-olds and upward at a mile and a furlong, with ,CC0 added. Then there are the Superior Stakes at a mile and a half, and the Prairie Stakes at two miles, both of which should prove intereiting events to all lovers of long distance racing. The conditions provide for a nominal cash entry fee, which should insure a big entry list, and the probable value of the different stakes will no doubt invite the entry of all tho high class horses in training.
