Herculean broke sideways and was bothered at every turn. He came wide into the stretch under an over-confident ride and was much the best. Saul of Tarsus ran a fine race, considoring that he was crossed in the stretch and unlucky generally. Edinborough is crippled and was used up with Gibraltar and Maresajin eetting a strong pace. Rose of Hilo ran a bad race in view of her last previous performance. Scratched 29919 Alzura, 129. Afghan, show, evens. Herculean, Bhow, 3 to 5. Saul of Tarsus, show, evens. Favorito was cleverly handled and the best stayer and outjumped his field, gaining at each hurdle. Sam Green finished very strongly after showing clean fencing throughout. Phil Archibald lost Beveral lengths at every obstacle and especially Buffered from striking a hurdle on the backstretch at the moment of making an apparently winning move. Distance showed speed, but tired and quit badly. Romany appeared to have a chance when he struck a hurdle at the half and never recovered. He will improve. Favorito, show, 3 to 5. Won ridden out; second easily. 8un-ello was probably favored by being allowed to make his own slow pace and stole a long lead on the stretch turn but had to be ridden strongly at the end. Artilla went poorly to the last quarter, and did not run her race. Compass quit and came again strongly at the end. El Mido was under mild pressure throughout and seemingly deficient in both speed and stamina. Billy Lyons waB prominent for a mile and ran a good race for him. Bunello, show, 2 to 5. Position steadily improved his position from a poor start, raced on the outBide of the entire field on the stretch turn und finished with a rare burBt of speed. He is a horse of fairly good class. Water Curo wae shuffled to last place on the first turn, pooketed repeatedly, shut off when going through an opening in the stretch and compelled to bump his way through, suffered from bo much crowding and was easily best. Yarro ran an extra fine race, and appeared like the winner in the last fifty yards. El Bio Shannon turned wide into the stretoh, showed plenty of spaed and ran well. The Fretter was badly buffeted around. Andrisa waa probably short, failed in the stretch and should improve. Bosormonde is still sufferine from soreness. Icicle was right there to the last furlong and is probably a sprinter only. Jim Hale was knocked to his kneea at the head of the stretch when seeming to have a good chance and was pulled up. He received an ovar-conudent ride and was badly m8ssod about at a critical moment on the far turn. He has only one burst of speed and must be waited with. Lapidna finished very fast after being crowded back in the first quarter and is greatly improved. Boyalty made an apparently winning move too soon as ho failed right at ths end. His waB an extra fine effort. Magi went well throughout. Botany quit badly in the last furlong, bnt was right there for seven-eighths. The Giver failed in the stretch. School for Scandal showed much speed and hung on well Autolight was given a bungling ride. He was waited with too long on the far turn and forced out of a good position. He was pinnod in next to the rail in the stretch and compelled to pull up and come around and in two mora strides would have won. Doublet showed much spend to the last sixteenth. Ordnung showed speed but failed to stay. The otbors were outclassed. February is apparently in good form. Byron Ros, show, 7 to 5. .Scnool for Scandal, show, 8 to 5. Autolight, show, 1 to 4.
