Fessy F. came with a rush through the stretch, caught Clorita tiring and got up in the last few strides. Too much use was made of Clorita in the first part of the race and she tired when the pinch came and she would have won at that haa Mclnerny gone about his business in place of looking back. Oconee was outrun in the early stages but came very strong at the end. The Elba tired in the stretch. Carrie I. quit in the last quarter. Eloim showed his usual early speed and quitting propensities. Obstinate Simon met with interference on the first turn, but worked his way to the front, wore down Rotterdam and raced him into subjection and came away with ease. Chopin was cut off and thrown back on the first turn, but came very fast when clear and finished strongly. Rotterdam tired in the last sixteenth, but showed speed and improvement over his last time out. Baronet tired in the run home.
