Tom Keene was much the best, ran like a stayer and came away easily when called on in the last eighth. Lucy Locket finished strongly and was the best of the others. Jane Holly showed speed but is seemingly faint hearted and tired fast when the pinch came. Mackey is a good looking colt, but appeared high in flesh. Frank Mc made up gound in the last quartor and was running fast at the end. Belle of Bohemia showed early speed. Navillus was cut down badly soon after the start. He was last when leaving the post and appeared to be badly beaten in the first quarter, but picked up the field rapidly thereafter and finished strongly, Buchanan purposeb drawing a fine finish. Joe Frey showed marked improvement and ran to bis best form. He finished with great determination. Hargis showed speed but was well beaten when a furlong out. Rosa Diah was right there for five and a half fnrlongs and bears watching. Theory as usual showed much speed but is faint-hearted. Overweights Red Tip, 1 pound. McChesney, show, out. Lord Faran-dole was much the best, jumped cleverly throughout and was never fully extended. He took a short cut aftertaking the second jump, going out of the course. For this he was disqualified. Bristol was easily the best of the others. Dagmar tired fast after the seventh jump. Scorpio lost ground at each jump and ran far below his last good performance. Jack Rattlin ran to his best form, showed much speed and won pretty much as his rider pleased. In the last sixteenth Jack Rattlin swung into the rail, cutting off Bragg, which had to be pulled up. For this he was disqualified. Bragg was under keen punishment all through the last eighth. Talpa was squeezed out of position just after the start and lost ground. She made it up down the backstretch and finished strongly. Dr. Stephens showed early speed and ran his race. Gonfalon tired fast after showing well for six furlongs. Gypzene finally broke with tho field and after running The Crisis into early submission, came away without much trouble. Linguist finished fast under a vigorous ride, but was not quite good enough. Mirance tired fast in the laBt furlong. Shooting Star showed scant speed and was never a serious contender. The Crisis had early speed and ran well for a half mile. Ultruda finished strongly and will bear watching. Temoer ran an impressive race, making up much ground in the final quarter. Illuminate fell away beaten after showing speed for a half mile.
