Shorthose, outrun early and trailing, closed up in the last quarter with a tremendous rush and won going away. Mamie Worth cut out a terrific pace hard hold, but tired and was worn down at the end by the winner, defiant, evidently short, went well for the first half, but tired at the end. San Andres, lucky and running on the inside, was kept from bearing out on turnB and is greatly improved. Frank McKee held on gamely after hard early usage. Boaster was probably short and can do better. Five Nations rap on the outsne and suffered all around the turn from San Andres bolting tendencies, but quit in the last quarter and ran a bad race. Old Hutek made the run under a choking pull almost throughout and was much the best. Bessie McCarthy came fast from a long way back and finished very strongly. Flying Buttress quit in the stretch after an early effort to overtake the winner. Drummond ran a fairly good:race. Intervention forced the early pace and wore Parisiehne down in the stratch and won going away. The latter tired in the going, but led under a choking pull to the stretch and was an easing up second and can beat this-kind on a fast track. Auriesville ran a fast and game race and showed improvement. Virgin Soil closed a wide gap and finished fast. Figardon, for a slow beginner, made up much ground, running on the extreme outside, and came at the end like a cyclone. Nine Spot closed a gap and was going strongly at the finish. Bridesmaid II., nearly left, ran a remarkable race. Scratched Subdue, 110; 33989 Glorious, 110; 323232Merry Reel, 110; 34092 Bright Girl. 110. Intervention, show, 1 to 2. Zoroaster, skillfully handled, trailed the pacemakers to the stretch, where he came fast and caught Caughnawaga tiring and unprepared. The latter had forced the pace throughout and decisively disposed of Himself, but the effort told. Himself was particularly favored by the going, bat succumbed after going the first mile. Baron Pepper, away badly, is still lacking in condition and was handicapped by the going, but ran a fine race. The Rival retired beaten in the first mile and was eased ud. Clonmell steadily improving, stuck to his work in the last quarter in game fashion after holding a prominent position to the stretch and was brought to a hard drive to beat Conundrum. The latter closed a tre-e mendous gap in the last half, ran a cracking good race and was best in the going. Sadducoe sustained his speed unexpectedly well today. Kings Favorite ran an extra good race for him and was favored by the soft going. Joy Maker was probably short and will show quick improvement. Sweet Tooth disliked, the going and ran a poor race. Irritable went lame in his near foreleg and was pulled up.
