Slipthrift favors slow going, but was prominent throughout and aided by light weight held on well. St. Finnan was outgamed in the final stretch drive and was possibly short. Bluff, nearly left, worked a rough passage inadequately ridden and finished like a flash when with clear sailing and was best. Rockwater, in grand form, but not quit" keyed up, can beat this kind and displayed brilliant speed and stamina. Torchlight was away badly and pocketed almo9t throughout. Redpath was nearly left and closed a tremendous gap, Setanket is strictly a mudlark. Scratched 34361Moor, 107; 34316 Barouche, 102. Belie of Lexington, show, 7 to 5. Wealth, show. 8 to 5. Inspector Stevens indulged Westown for the first mile and then forged to the front. He went unextended throughout and was easing almost to a walk in tho last quarter and was much the best. Grey Friar . broke running, held sway throughout, was always apparently a certain winner and was best at the weights. Judith Campbell, also favored with a lucky start, reserved her speed and made good in the stretch, easily stalling off Whitechapel. The latter broke fiatfootad. raced a faBt middle half and. appeared a contender a furlong out, but failed to stay and is evidently fainthearted, Sailmaker was interfered with on the far turn. Grantsdale, nearly left, closed a big gap. Maxnic, unable to concede the weight, was outru to the stretch where ho was going strongly and favors a longer route. Charles Elwood was away badly and pocketed. Merry Acrobat has worked fast and ran in improved form.
