Luigart came away with ease in the last furlong and won going away. ONeil had him under restraint to the stretch turn. Eddie T. showed all tho early speed, but tired in the last sixteenth. Bank Street made up a lot of ground in the stretch and would have been second in a few more strides. Dusky Secret was off well and had no mishaps. Mrs. Frank Fosters race yesterday seemed to have taken her speed away. Miss Trappean ran well to the stretch and then quit. Luigart, show, 6 to 5. Eddie T show, 2 to 1. Bank Street, show, evens. The distance and weight just suited The Way. He went to the front in the first half mile and thereafter had things pretty much his own way. Obstinate Simon was doing his best for the entire journey, but could not give the weight to the winner. Secundus was on the outside most of the way and covered a lot of ground. He finished on the inside and was crowded some in the last sixteenth. Picador was cut off and knocked out of it just before making the turn for home. The Bronze Demon was coming very fast and would have won in another stride. Binehelio was outrun in the first part of the race but finished strongly. Irish Jewel was off poorly and had to go all around the field to get up and finished strongly. Annie Lauretta tired in the run home. Scratched 33489 Lady Berkeley, 111. Edinborough, show, 2 to 5. Rice was lucky in the breakaway1, was off well in motion and made a runaway affair of it, but was under a drive all the last furlong to stall off McWilliame. The latter was off tangled up and had to go all around his field to get up, but finished very strongly and was wearing the winner down. Oconee saved ground at the home turn, but tired when the pinch came. Bean had a rough trip and might have won but for interference. Oconee waived apprentice allowance.
