WHITNEY GOING ABROAD. William C. Whitney, his son, Harry Payne Whitney, and Herman Duryea, partner of the younger Whitney, left Friday for England on a pleasure trip. They will be absent until the latter part of October, and during the time they are abroad will have an opportunity to see considerable racing. Volodyovski, the star of the Whitney string in England, is entered in the Cesarewitch and Cambridgeshire, two of the English classics that are to be run during October. He is likely to start in both, and Mr. Whitney desires to see him run. In addition to Volodyovski, Mr. Whitney has seven two-year.olds which were leased from Lady Meux. The best of these is Ayrshire Beauty, which recently won a stake in good company. Another one is a filly called Affinity. Zaza is another filly in the string, and the colts are Uncle Reggie and White Webbs. All the youngsters are in training and they will be btarted during the presence of the party in England. Harry Payne Whitney and Mr. Duryea do not intend to devote all their time to racing. The young sportsmen are planning a hunting trip, which will continue for, several weeks. The Whit-neys have a beautiful country place in Yorkshire, and there is plenty of game in the vicinity. The party will r9turn here in time to witness some of the racing at Morris Park.
