GOSSIP OF THE TURF. Starter Fitzco raids recovery is not so rapid as could bo desired. Dr. Joseph P. Murphy, his phycician, said Tuosday night that bis pationt was still con fined to his room, but doing- as well as could be expected. Ho did not think the pationt would be ablo to go out for fully ton days, and there was little prospect of his being ablo to attend to business for some time to come. The horses of James B. Haggin, which were trained by Charles Littlefield, Jr., who died last Sunday, will be trained in the future by the elder Littlefield and his son Barry. Since the Morris Park meeting, where the Haggin stable was singularly fortunate, thoy have had charge of the string. The success of the horses at the latter meetings was due to their management. John Stevens, who trained the second string of James B. Haggin, left for his home in Kentucky Tuesday night. The horses formerly in his charge have been turned over to Walter Jennings.
