Meltonian came from a long way back and finished strongly. Muzio ran in improved form. Payne got away running, but failed to stay. Shorthose quit ia the last quarter and was swerving all over the track. Lyne was too weak to do him justice aad his race was too bad to bo true. He can easily beat this kind. Caughnawaga, somewhat handicapped by the cuppy going, was sent along from the start and overhauled the pacemaker at the end of a mile, after which his victory was certain. He is a proven stayer and will be hard to beat over a cup route. Dixieline improved suddenly and trailed the field to the stretch turn, where he moved up fast and finished very strongly. Oom Paul tired after leading for the first mile under a ckoking pull and did not run his race. Scratched 34797Par Excellence, 123; 34S88The Rival, 116: 34886 Colonel Bill, 106; 34944 Trump, 106. Hark Forward, skillfully ridden and lightly weighted, trailed Rowdy to the stretch, where he went to the front with ease. Rowdy was under pressure most of the way to overhaul Cock Robin and tired under the weight right at the end. He ran a dull race and can do better, nearly fell twice and was best. Court-maid was lucky and had clear sailing, held on gamely and ran a good race. Arcade got away poorly aad had a rough journey, but finished with a rush. Jack oLantern was probably best, but was carried hopelessly wide on the turn, losing ten lengths and failed right at the end. Sailmaker, away badly, closed a big gap, but was swerving all over the stretch. Princelet bolted on the turn losing ten lenghts. Erora was doing well at the end. Scratched 34670 Pride of Galore, 107. Moor ran a good race and will always run above the mark on the grass course, which he favors. The Rival was carried out and bumped on the first turn and could never get up afterward. Daly ran eonsistently. Scratched 34856 Clonmell, 105; 34705 Operator, 99. Overweights Moor, 3 pounds. No show betting.
