Easy Street was always outrun, bnt uuder punishment came strongly in the stretch. Lou Rey began slowly, but finished stoutly and is showing steady improvement. Georgia Gardner, at home in the going and running to her best form, made a show of the field. Zack Ford was hard ridden in the early stages, but gradually wore Orrie Goan down in the run home and finished strongly. Orrie Goan weakened badly in the run home. Carl C. was a contender for a half only. Vituria was off poorly. The same applies to H. S. Tobacco, which showed a flash of speed in the early part of the race. Sardine was under pressure in the early stages, but gradually wore down the leaders and won going away. Almanzo was tiptoed all the way, stood punishment gamely in the stretch drive and but for having to make up a lot of ground soon after the start might have given the winner a stout argument. Competitor ran well and showed a liking for the going. Worthington came with a rush in the last quarter and ran in much improved form. Emma C. L. and Mattie Spencer showed early speed, but were raced into exhaustion in pacing tho field. The latter is not fond of heavy going.
