Start fair for all but Commodore Dewey and Simoon, which were left at the post. Won easily ; second driving. Blessed Damozel iaved ground by going next to the inside rail and finishing strongly was much the best. Birdwood came with a rush at the end on the outside. Wild Oats tired fast when the pinch came after showing speed. Hopefleld ran well for seven furlongs. Russellton faltered palpably when the pinch came. The Ladaean was never a serious contender. Chiquasabog pulled up after running four and a half furlongs. Scratched Indian II., 104; Proclaim, 1U4. Overweights Russellton, 4 pounds. Blessed Damozel, show, 6 to 5. Birdwood, show, 6 to 5. Pericles moved up fast when well straightened for home and, under a vigorous ride, finished strongly. Lord Touchwood showed much speed and appeared the winner when a furlojig out, but tired perceptibly when challenged by the winner. Antagonist was given a poorly judged Tide, Winkfleld losing much ground by taking a wide turn when entering the last quarter. He finished stoutly, but was unable to overcome the lost ground. The latter tired fast when the pinch came. Mystic Shriner began slowly, but in the fiaal half made up some ground and bears watching. Bristol closqd up ground in the last half mile. He was cut out of position at the half mil post and fell back to last place and then was taken wide when turning for home. He closed up ground rapidly in the last eighth and was gradually wearing down the winner. Western Duke closed up ground in the last quarter and finished strongly. Frank M. was well beaten when a furlong from homo. Star Cotton showed early speed. Galathe ran well for seven furlongs. Scratched 3482l3Captain Gaines, 110. Overweights Western Duke, 2 pounds.
