Insolence had no mishaps ; and ran to her best form; Jim Nap began slowly, but came fast through the stretch and finished resolutely. Prancer weakened badly in the last quarter. Lampshade was at home in the going, set a fast, early pace and tiptoed the field, winning eased up. Gold Bride, always a contender, hung on gamely under punishment and was best of those behind the winner. Emir, i away in a tangle, ran a good race and but for making a wide stretch turn would probably have finished second. Helen O a ford and Lady Winkle showed early speed, but tired in the run home. Obstinate Simon overtook the leaders at the half-mile ground and was well in hand after that. Kaslo liked the going, forced the pace and caused Handcuff to be raced into exhaustion. The VVay began slowly and came fast through the stretch on his own courage. Handcuff tired after going three-quarters. Albulainthe going was much tho best and only played with the field, winning at the end as his rider pleased. Lady Kent ran to her form and had no mishaps. Nat Goodwin was always outrun, but was eased up in the stretch when Castro saw he could not overtake the leaders. Hotterdam ran well. Briers, a slow beginner in addition to getting away poorly, gradually closed up ground and finished strongly. Bank Street had no mishaps. Springwater tired after going three-quarters. Woolsack showed slight improvement; Mexicana appeared au easy winner at the stretch head, but ran out and was pulled up to" a standstill. The others were beaten off. Fairy Doll showed much early speed, but was made too much use of in tho first three-quarters. Senator Beveridge ran in improved form. Georgia Gardner tired from her effort to overhaul Fairy Dell in tho first part of the race. Lou Rey was off poorly.
