Young Henry, away badly, raced around the field and finished like a whirlwind and was much the best. Setauket, in close quarters nearly throughout, held on well and was particularly favored by the going. Examiner went well and finished strongly. Operator, prominent throughout, tired right at the end. Jack Battlin, shuffled back at the start, made up considerable ground. Schoharie, steadily improving, quit after forcing a fast pace to thu stretch, where he seemed like the winner. Belle of Lexington dislikes weight. Draughtsman made up twenty lengths in the stretch where the heavy going suited him. Silent Friend led for the first two miles on sufforance and had second place secure but for a costly error over the last jump. River Pirate, improved suddenly, displayed a high order of speed and held on gamely. Fire Eater closed a big gap from a flatfooted start and was favored by the muddy going. Eugenia Burch tired at the end from excessive early use, but stuck to her work gamely. Wild Thyme was interfered with and unlucky. Astarita tired after forcing the pace to the stretch. Blues, allowed to make the pace well within himself, ran kindly and was never called on strongly at any stage and was much the best at the weights and in the going. Sombrero ran a fast and game race, but was no match for the winner, but far the best of the others. Advance Guard closed a tremendous gap from a bad start and mu9t he very good on his showing today in going not to his liking. Articulate ran a comparatively bad race and was in difficulties after going six furlongs. The Rival, away very badly, was hopelessly outrun. Harrison, outrun early, went around the field and finished with a rush. Ringdove, badly outrun to the stretch, was closing up fast at the ,end. Tioga was prominent throughout. The latter came fast through the stretch and finished strongly. Ben Battle looked like making a runaway race of it early and sustained his speed unexpectedly well. Black Dick closed a gap.
