The MuBketeer, with weight off, beat the gate and made most of his advantage, easily retaining a safe lead throughout Clorita, also in well, was the chief contender throughout and ran a fine, fast race. Astarita broke flat-footed and being used up to get within striking distance of the leaders held on gamely and was probably second best. Operator broke slowly, lacked in early speed and has probably lost his best form. Daly ; closed a gap. Belle of Lexington was always outrun. Star of theTWest, nearly left, made up much ground and finished strongly. Young Henry had no chance at the start and was outclassed at the weights. Smith. Went to post at 2:50. At post 4 minutes. Start bad. Won easily; second the same. Old Hutch waited on Essene to the stretcht where he easily drew to the front and was much the best. Essene, away in front, made the running, well in hand, to the last furlong, where he tired but held on unexpectedly well. Bar Le Due broke flatfooted and closed a big gap, swerving badly under punishment at the end; Boaster, away poorly after being severely kicked at the post ran a good race. Rockey broke sideways and closed up ground, but failed to stay after going a good six furlongs and is not in good form. The Referee is a non-stayer. Scratched 351912Hunter Raine, 111. Sparkle Esher, nearly left, closed a big gap and is in great form. Courtmaid, always prominent, was beaten out for third place in the last stride, Lady Josephine failed to stay and is best in mud. Hunter Raine finished strongly and wore Francesco down at the end. The latter was probably short and can do much better. Christine A. tired right at the end. Dark Planet, away poorly, made up ground. Lorina went well. Ringdove had no chance at the start, but closed a big gap and was easing up in the last quarter. Animosity, away badly, made up ground. Ascension was carried hopelessly wide on the first turn. Mary Worth failed to stay. Biserta closed a big gap.
