Althea. badly outrun for the first half, made up ground fast in the last quarter and won going away as her rider pleased. Ida V. came with a rush in the closing strides and nipped Little Duchess II. on the post. The latter tired palpably in the last sixteenth. Lady Rico showed speed, but fell away beaten when a furlong out. Tea Rose III. displayed keen speed, but sustained it for five furlongs only. Scratched 35091 Mary Moore, 109. Althea, show, 6 to 5. Won easily ; second driving, Wyola moved up fast when turning for home and easily held the field safe through the last quarter. Lady Meddlesome, off flatfooted, began slowly and was badly outrun in the first half, but she closed up ground fast in tho last quarter and finished strongly. Pirates Queen stood a long stretch drive with gameness and flnishod resolutely. Compass was cut off at the first turn. She saved ground by going next to the inside rail in the last quarter, but tired perceptibly when a furlong out. Bedner showed much speed for six furlong?. Wyola, show, evens. Won handily; second driving. Lucien Appleby was hot called on until entering the last quarter, where he gradually wore down the two in front of him and finished resolutely. Jack Demund ran out slightly at the half mile post, but recovered quickly. He and Corrigan fought it out stride for stride all through the home stretch. Little Robbins was not strong enough to give Corrigan the vigorous ride he requires and he was slow in getting him into his stride in the first quarter. Water Edge bolted when the barrier went up. Lady Jacelyn ran a dull race throughout and her showing was far belqw that of the day before. She labored hard all through the last quarter. Hide and Seek ran well for a half mile. Orla outstayed Little Jack Horner in the last sixteenth struggle. The latter showed his usual turn of speed, but was well beaten when a furlong from home King Barleycorn finished strongly and boars watching. Judicious ran well for about half a mile. Moabinas saddle slipped when going to the post and she rah away two and a half miles before she could be stopped. She was taken to the paddock and a new saddle put on.
