LOCAL TURF GOSSIP. Jockey Munro was fined 5 by starter Holtman for breaking through the barrier with his mount, Hub Prather, in the the third race. J. J. Marklein with a string of seven horses, and J. C. Milam with four, arrived yesterday from Canada. The entry of the horse Water Edge will be refused in future by he Hawthorne officials until he is properly schooled at the barrier. Kit Chinn arrived at the track yesterday from. Butte, Mont., where he has been acting as starter. Mr. Chinn said the meeting was a success in every way except financially, due to the operations of four pool rooms in the town.
