GOSSIP OF THE TURF. The millionaire turfman and breeder, James B. Haggin, authorized the statement which was given out at Elmendorf in response to a request, that he had not abandoned negotiations for the purchase of the Kentucky Association race course, and that there was a promise of the deal being consummated. He declined to discuss the matter as to what use the track would be put if purchased, or whether racing would be revived; also the reported possibility ot a new racing circuit, of which this track might be one. Charles Green, of St. Louis, is owner of the track, and the price at which it is said to be held is 0,000.
