John Hughes was quickest in getting away, showed the most early speed and was never in trouble. Prancer was under a drive all of the last quarter and saved ground at the home turn while the winner went wide. Ellis carried his field very wide at first turn with April 8hower, which was hustled along all the way, raced Lone Fisherman into submission in the first three-quarters and came away in the run home. Autolight as usual, began slowly but finished strongly and was overhauling the winner in the last sixteenth. Lone Fisherman quit. Janice had no mishaps. George Perry and St. Daniel showed the most early speed and the former lasted longer. His weight anchored the latter and he tired when the pinch came. The latter hung slightly when the pinch came. Foneda was off running and had every advantage, but tired after going a half.
