Won easily after an early stretch drive ; second the same. Chickadee began slowly, but moved up fast when turning for home and easily wore down Sandflea in the last eighth. Sandfiea showed much speed, but tired perceptibly when challenged by the winner. Qoldaga appeared hopelessly beaten off while going down the backstretch, but began to make up ground fast in the last quarter and finished strongly. Tom Embry showed speed for a half mile. Fairburyran Private Nolan into early submission and appeared to be winning easily in the last sixteenth but kelly grew careless and had to hustle him out to stall off Pirates Queens rush at the end. The latter finished strongly and would probably have won in another stride or two. Gracious easily wore down Private Nolan for third place in the last sixteenth. He was not called upon until entering the last quarter, where Cobnrn took him next to the inside rail and he passed Flying Torpedo easily. The latter rallied in the last sixteenth and came strongly in the closing strides, but the winner always held him safe through the last eighth. Seaton was not strong enough to give him the vigorous ride he requires or he would probably have won. Little Elkin tired fast in the last eiehth struggle.
