Echo Dale was much the best, coming away easily on call in the last quarter and winning as his rider pleased. Dodie S. began somewhat slowly but when well straightened for home moved up fast and finished strongly. Brownie Anderson faltered perceptibly under a weak ride in the closing strides. Americano picked up his weight with ease and showed much speed, winniDg well within himself. The Don finished strongly and was much the best of the otheri. Foxy Kane got into his stride slowly, but moved up fast in the last quarter and finished stoutly. Philo lost ground in the first half, but rallied in the last eighth and finished fast. She was carried out by Mistie when turning for home, losing ground. The latter showed a flash of early speed. Flying Torpedo was rated cleverly along in third place until after six furlonga had been run whan he went up to Ed Adack on call and easily passed him just after turning for homi, winning ai his rider pleased. Little Elkin finished well and was much the better of the others at the weights. Bragg made up ground steadily after the first six furlongs had been run and finished stoutly. He is rounding into his best form. Ed Adack fell away badly beaten when entering the last quarter after showing much speed. Scratched 35123 Harry New, 105. Overweights Birdwood, 34 pounds. The latter ran an excellent race and was much the best of the others at the weights. Gregor K. ran a good race, but tired noticeably when called on in the last sixteenth struggle. The track had dried out too much for him to run to his best form. C. B. Campbell was well spsnt when entering the last sixteenth. Corinno Unland was never a serious factor. Wainamoinen, all entangled at the start, did not have a chance when she got into her stride. She was hopelessly out of it before the first quarter bad been run but mado up ground steadily thereafter and finished strongly. She would probably have won with an even break. The latter finished with a rush, but the winner was just a shade too good for her. Barrack made up ground fast in the last quarter and finished strongly under a weak ride. Lady Meddlesome lost some ground when turning for home, but responded gamely when called on in the last sixteenth and finished stoutly. Compass had enough when a furlong out.
