1 I GOSSIP OF THE TURF. August Belmont has purchased from H. M. Zieg-ler, of Cincinnati, the two-year-old filly, Nimini, by St. Simonmimi Catherine filly, which Mr. Zieg-ler gave 25 at Tuesdays sale of English thoroughbreds at the Horse Exchange. The filly is a granddaughter of St. Simon and comes of royal blood on her dams side, and Mr. Belmont paid Mr. Zisgler ,050 for her. This was just 100 per cent interest for an investment of forty-eight hours. Henry Zieglers purchases at this sale, added to those already made, increase his list of two-year-olds and yearlings to forty-three colts and fillies. Trainer Charles Hughes will have ample material to work on for next season, and the Ziegler stable bids fair to take an important part in the distribution of the spoils in 1903.
