Clorita waited on Frank Kenney to the stretch turn, where she took the lead without much effort winning pulled, up. and far outclassed the field. Hockey, fresh and good, closed a big gap from a bad start. Honolulu broke badly and went around the field on both turns and finished well. Maiden ran in greatly improved form and stayed unexpectedly well. St. Daniel was given a lucky start, had clear Bailing and showed superior speed and gameness. Jack oLantern went wide on the turn and finished with a rush after overcoming interference in the stretch. Couuterpoise put up a fast and game race. Shrine, away badly, made up much ground. Incubator, a slow beginner, was outrun early, forced out of position and repeatedly crossed in the stretch, where he was closing up strongly. Stamping Ground closed a Dig gap. Prediction was nearly left. Mackey Dwyer is out of place in sprints Lyman Hay showed speed, but is a non-stayer. Scratched 31065 Rosetint, 111; 35789 Coruscate, 111. Overweights Lyman Hay, 1 pound. The latter closed up much ground after making a wide first turn and was bearing out at the end or he would have won. Ben Howard held on unusually well at the end after forcing the pace. Dr. Riddle, shut off at the start, ran a fast middle half and tired in the last fnrlong. The Talisman showed early speed, but failed to stay and prefers mud. Kittaning showed speed throughout, but failed to stay when called on for a strong effort. Earl of Warwick ran well and finished strongly. Scoffer, at the weights, was a good colt and ran a good race.
