Apple Sweet closed up on Aylmer Bruce in tho last eighth, the two fighting it out stride for stride to the wire. The latter, off flying, showed much speed and responded with gameness under a hard drive. Leash closed up ground fast in the last quarter and finished strongly. Goody Twoshoes ran: a good race and bears watching from now on. Esherin was all tangled at the start and had little chance by the time she got into her stride. Whiten showed well for a half mile. Dr. Stephens ran well, but tired perceptibly when the pinch came. Hoodwink finished strongly. Gallant laid in a good position next to the inside rail in the last eighth, but tired fast in the last sixteenth struggle. Aurie B. was never a serious contender. He appears to be a counterfeit and little reliance can be placed in him. DueliBt had enongh when a furlong out. Tom Kingsley showed improvement and bears watching from now on. He finishod strongly and would have been third in a few more strides. Eva Rice tired fast in the last eighth. Sarilla ran woll for seven furlongs.
