Start good. Won driving: second the same. Jigger had to go all around his field to get up and was driving to the limit at the end after fighting it out with Locust Blossom all through the last furlong. The latter showed early speed, but tired at the end. John Drake was crowded back in the run down the backstretch and had to go around the leaders to get up. He finished strongly and bears watching. Altona closed a big gap in the stretch run. Chanton fell at the sixteenth post. Gray Dally was sore when going to the post. Napoleon Bonaparte showed early speed. Overweights Glenzen, 31 pounds. Bob Franklin showed the most speed all the way won easing up and was never in trouble. Joe Buckley did his best and was hustled along all the way. Antagonist saved ground at the tnrn into the homestretch, hung on gamely whenthe pinch came and ontgamed Sinner Simon when it came to a drive. The latter ran below his best form. Lady Kent saved ground at the turn into the homestretch, was under a drive all of the last furlong and rut-gamed Carrie I. when the pinch came. Carrie I. was used up making the early pace with Bridge. The latter quit badly in the stretch run. Our Jessie came with a rash on the extreme outside in the last furlong, and would have been second in a few more strides. Albula, Jiminez and Rubus ran poorly and can all do better. Special Tax was on the outside all the way, caught Louise Collier tiring in the stretch and finished strongly under a drive. Louise Collier showed speed and hung on longer than usual. She was off well in motion. Miss Knickerbocker made up a lot of ground in the last quarter. Mockery and Miss Eon showed early speed. Overweights Miss Knickerbocker, 2 pounds. Laura F. M., show, out. Dave Sommers was used up chasing the leaders and was tiring at the end. Kohnwreath tired and quit in the last eighth after showing a good turn of early speed.
