THE YEAR AT VT. LOUIS The St. Louis racing field, composed of the Fair Grounds, Delmar Park and Kinloch Park,, was productive to owners this year of the gross sum of 26,475. The figures for the several tracks are as follows: Fair Grounds, two meetings 15,700 Delmar Park, two meetings 171,525 Kinloch Park, one meeting 39,250 Total . ,..26,475 . This is a very handsome amount of money indeed, and in most respects, St. Louis racing compares favorably with that of other important racing centers. Its main deficiency is in the scanty number of stakes. Such prosperous organizations as those of St. Louis could very well afford a program of at least three stakes weekly and add to their gains thereby. Increased public interest repays at the gate all increase of outlay in stakes with ample profit added and the St. Louis clubs will make no mistake if they enrich their offerings in that line next year. It was a good year for Barney Schreiber at St. Louis, his stable having captured by far the greatest sum of all those campaigned at the Moand City. The success of Otis in the St. Louis Derby was the leading element, but otherwise his horses did exceedingly well. The stables of Fizer and Co., E. J. Arnold and Co., T. P. Hayes, B. R. Rice and J. S. Bratton also made lucrative returns. The table of stables that won ,0C0 or more at the St. Louis tracks is as follows: Owners. Amt. Owners. Amt. B. Schreiber 5,195 Fizer and Co 0,800 T. P.
