At post 10 minutes. Start good. Won easily; second the same. Glenrice moved up fast after turning for home and easily passed into the lead, winning as his rider pleased. Lord Melbourne showed speed, but tired noticeably when challenged by the winner. He was much the best of the others, however. Albemarle had enough when a furlong out. Centie showed early speed and bears watching from now on,. Begone and Computation ran well for three furlongs. The Caxton moved up fast, running toward the outside after entering the last quarter and wore down Theory in the last thirty yards under a hard drive. The latter appeared the winner when a sixteenth out, but tired in the closing strides. Preetorius finished strongly under punishment. Howendobler showed speed, but faltered slightly when the pinch came. I. Samelson made up much ground in the last quarter. Sue Johnson ran a dull race and can do better. Overweights Guy H., 4 pounds. Banter was not called on until just before entering the last quarter, where he moved up fast and joined Mac Gyle, the two fighting it out stride for stride all through the last eighth. Banter showed gameness und?r punishment and is a good two-year-old. Mac Gyle tired just the slightest in tho closing strides. Jaubert easily outstayed Jackfull in the last eighth struggle for third place. The latter was given a badly judged ride and can do better.
