Rose of May was lucky throughout, showed much speed in the going and came away from the others cantering in the last furlong. Satchel was a contender throughout and easily second best. Ruby Ray closed a big gap and finished strongly. Waninta ran well to the stretch where ehe tired badly. Lathrop mado up ground in the last quarter, as also did Palmette. Dawson was in a pocket while rounding the first turn, but worked his way to the front on the backstretch, went around the leaders while rounding the far turn and finished strongly. Welsh Girl was off tangled up, closed a big gap in the stretch run and finished very strongly, outgaming The Common when it came to a drive. Won easily ; second the same. Orpheum had to go all around the leaders to get to the front, was carried wide into the homestretch, but finished strongly and was going away at the end. Bank Street was outrun in the first quarter, but made up a lot of ground and finished fast. Soothsayer ran well, but was in the deep going next to the inside rail all the way. Lord Touchwood and Christine A. were used up making the pace and thoir weight told at the end and they tired. St. Minor ran poorly throughout. Orpheum, show, 9 to 10. Bank Street, show, 5 to 1. Trocadero was under restraint in the first half, went through noxt to the inside rail at the half mile post and had everything his own way from there on. Last Knight finished strongly. He was carried wide at the turn into the backstretch. Santa Teresa closed a big cap and was catching the leaders at every stride at the end. Becundus tired and quit whed called on. Aratoma was at home in the going, raced Chorus Boy into submission in the first six furlongs, but swerved over to the inside rail in tho last sixteenth and carried Optimo into the deep goiog next to the inside rail. The latter was crowded and pinched off at the end, for which Aratoma was disqualified. Optimo ran well. Chorus Boy was swerving all over the track in the last furlong. He was off well in motion and ran his race. Silk Cord seemingly could not raise a good gallop in the going and by no means ran his race. Scratched 36268 8uave, 105; 36297 Mandamus, 97.
