Rey Dare raced into the lead on the first turn and retained his advantage without urging to the finish and was much the best. I. O. U.. away badly and crowded on the first turn, closed a big gap in the last six furlongs and was swerving, but coming fast at the end. Gibraltar secured a lucky start which tnabled him, in spite of a poor ride, to last the journey. Lecturer went after the winner oarly, but a wide stretch turn and a weak finish combined to beat him out of trtird place. Prima II. was inadrquately handled throughout and can do much better. Learoyd was hopelessly pocketed when a furlong out. Rasp, practically left, should give a good account of himself soon. Corrected weights Rey Dare, 106; Lecturer, 109. Rey Dare, show, 2 to 1. I. O. Vohicer, away poorly, gradually improved his position and put up a fast stretch run, winning going away. Ada N. beat the gate, was lucky and skillfully ridden, stood a long drive gamely and appeared the winner when a furlong out, but tired unexpectedly. Sleeping Child closed a big gap from a bad start and finished going fast. Pat Morrissey rushed into the lead early and but for crowding in the stretch would have been third. Montana Peeress went well. Golden Cottage was badly messed about. Resin was seriously interfered with early. Scratched 36900Rose of Hilo,112; S6713 Legal Maxim, 106. Yohicer, show, evens. Constella-tor beat the barrier and led without being seriously menaced at any stage and was practically cantering in the last quarter. Artilla finished well and just got up in the last stride to save second place and can do better. Canejo displayed much improved form and was the only serious contender for the first mile. El Rio Shann.ons unexpected loss of early speed was a marked feature. Hermencias bad race was foreshadowed by the betting. He trailed hopelessly, falling back out of contention although seemingly ready to run fast. His jockeys ride is under investigation and the bookmakers sheets are being inspected. . , , Scratched S6682 Dupont, 94. "Constellator, show, 1 to 2. Artilla, show, 1 to 4. Canejo, show, 6 to 5. Sad Sam beat the gate and made the most of his advantage, forced a terrific pace and stood a long stretch drive gamely. Kcnilworth was several lengths behind the winner at the start and delayed too long about going after the winner, but was fast wearing him down at the end. Flush of Gold was away well at the start but was outrun to the stretch, where she finished with a rush. Corrigan was nearly left and closed a tremendous gap and was probably best. Diomed, collided with at the start and off badly, rapidly closed a gap and appeared the winner when a sixteenth out, but his effort tired him in the final strides. Mission, suddenly improved and lucky throughout, ran to his best form. Matin Bell was carried hopelessly wide on all the turns and fell away in the final drive after going a fast seven furlongs.
