Glendenning outclassed the field and led unextended throughout. Prestano was as easily the best of thand others and ran a game race, but is best in mud. Rose of Hilo finished fast and caught Oscar Tolle tiring at the end. The latter quit after making a hard, early effort to get up. Malaspina got away poorly and was closing up fast at the end. Ravino ran in improved form, had clear sailing, finished out the last quarter fast and caught I. O. U. napping. The latter appeared a sure winner when a furlong out and was probably best. Forte trailed far out of the race to the stretch, where he made his move and finished like a whirlwind. He will give a good account of himself over a long distance. Constable failed to stay and can do bettor in soft going. Mont Eagle, displayed unexpected early speed and ran in improved form. Tiberia ran well for six furlongs. Scratched 36985Larry Wilt, 109. Urchin was lucky at the start and is in rare form. He moved up fast into the load on the far turn and fought out the final struggle gamely. Donami evidently favors a distance. He forced the pace for the first half a mile and suddenly fell away, but came again fast at the end. Nigrette was interfered with on the" first turn but afterward had no mishaps and ran a very bad race. Dnpont began slowly but finished, with a rush at the end. El Rio Shannon ran poorly. Leader received a bad looking ride. Extreme apathy characterized Ranchs efforts. He repeatedly took the colt back, out of serious contention, and made a belated rush at the end. Andrew Ring was always prominent and stood a long stretch drive gamely and is steadily improving.
