A3IKKJ CAN RUNNING EECOKDS. Several important changes in American records -were effected in 1902. At Brighton Beach, July S, Gold Heels covered a mile and a quarter in 2:036, -displacing the previous record of 2:04 held by Char-entus.SAtthe same fast track, July 30, Bonnibert -went a mile and an eighth in 1 :51, effacing the previous record of 1 :51H held jointly by Water Cure andURoehampton. At Harlem. September 1, the imported horse, Scintillant II., ran a mile and three-sixteenths in 1:5756, effectually wiping out Boanerges rocord of l:58i. At Brighton Beach, July 26, Hyphen set a new mark when he ran a mile and a sixteenth in l:44J6,as did Major Daingerfleld, -when ho won the Lawrence Realization at Sheeps-head Bay, July 4, covering the mile and five-eighths in 2:47. The Musketeers seven furlongs in 1 :25, P LuxCastas six furlongs in 1:12 and Platers fire and a half furlongs straightaway in 1 :026 are the other chances in the records. A new distance in the table of records is Judge Thomas three and a half furlongs at Butte in 40i seconds. The American records are now as set forth in the adjoining table- . , ..
