SX. LOUIS FAIR STAKES. Next to Chicago St. Louis is the most important xacing point in the west and a favorite field of operations for many owners. Last year the St. Louis tracks produced a harvest of nearly a half million dollars to winning owners and will do better this .year, in evidence of which attention is called to the big.list of stakes advertised in this issue by the St. Louis Fair Association. Of most immediate interest to owners are of course the stakes to be disposed of this year, but easily the most important feature of this list is the Worlds Fair Handicap. Its 0,000 guaranteed value makes it the richest and most attractive handicap for three-year-olds and upward that has ever been proposed in this country. It will no doubt attract a huge entry list and is bound to be one of the main features of the racing of 1904.
