Princess Titania was lucky, had clear sailing, waited on the fast pace to the stretch, where she drew to the front easily and ran the best race of her career. Byron Rose steadily improved his position from an indifferent start and was closing up fat, but swerving under an incompetent ride. Elliott, away badly, in close quarters 10 the stretch and hopelessly pocketed when a furlong from home, finished like a flash when clear and was probably best. Irene Lindsey forced a hot pace for six furlongs and tired only in the last few strides. The Pride went well throughout. Maggie Felix was a contender on the stretch turn.
