Shogun went around the leadnrs at the turn into the homestretch and took command with a rush, but had to be hustled along at the end to stall off a challenge from Memphian. The latter was a strong contender throughout and at the end was gradually wearing the winners lead down. Mauser tired whon called on for a final effort. He saved much ground at the turn into the homestretch. Prince Herman weakened after going well foe five furlongs. Lord Neville cut the corner closely at the turn into the homestretch and beat Maltster to the path, but was under a hard drive in the last furlong to stall off the latter. Maltster was probably best. Gannon kept him on the extreme outside to the last furlong post and then pulled off the path and finished on the inside of the winner where the going was bad. Zack Ford ontgamed Ailyar when it came to the final drive. The latter showed a lot of early speed, but weakened iu the run through the stretch. Potente was under restraint for the first half, and was then taken to the inside at the turn into the homestretch and out-gamed Honolulu in the deciding drive. The latter displayed much early speed, but was on the extreme outside for the entire trip. John A. Clarko is at a disadvantage on anything but a fast track. Jack Demund gradually worn the leaders down while rounding the far turn and caught W.J. Deboe at the stretch head, shook him off in ths stretch run and drew away without great effort at the end. W. J. Deboe tired when the pinch came. Jessie Jarboe was cut off a couple of times and had a rough trip in general. Telamon had no mishaps. Ahumada was shut off at the start and Buchanan had to go down on the inside to set to the front, brit came wide into the homestretch and his mount tired when it came to the final drive Glenn-evis.ran a good race and finished in the deep going.
