Title caught Maid of Hope tiring in the final eighth and came away from her without troublo. Maid of Hope showed speed and improvement. The others were never in the hunt. Orrie Goau was off well in motion at the start, received a good ride and won with something in reserve. Wyola ran a good race, but found the distance a trifle too short. Ben Boy was outrun in the early stages, but finished fast. Suave had no chance from where she got off and was generally messed about in the run through the stretch. King of Diamonds was off well in motion at the start and raced to the front in a flash while going around the far turn and, taking a winning lead, maintained it without much effort to the finish. Dr. Hassman was outrun in the first part of the race, but came along fast next to the inner rail and caught Wiggins tiring in the final sixteenth. At the weights he was easily second best. Wiggins could not concede the weight. The others were never serious contenders. Scratched S6773 Alvin W , 113. Corrected weights Wiggins, 125. Overweights Lord Crimson, 11 pounds. Georgiena ran a good race and was a contender throughout. C. P. Jones ran well for six furlongs, but tired slightly in the stretch run.
