NOTES OF THE TURF. C. Bobbins, father of tho lightweight jockey, has his plans mado to raco six or eight horses the coming season. In addition to Apple Sweet, a pretty shifty three-year-old filly which is quartered at the Fair Grounde, New Orleans, he has turned out near Chicago four very promising two-year-olds, and ho confidently expects to get one or two good per-j formers from them. He will take up these youngsters and put them in training as soon as ho comes back hore in the spring, Mon Droit, owned by Capt. James B. Clay, of Iroquois Stud, Lexington, Ky., and tho dam of Major Daingerfield, is barren this year. She has now a good yearling filly by Handspring and was bred back to tho same sire last season. She is by Falsetto Plainfiolds. Mars Cassidy has been selected to fill the position of starter at tho Los Angeles race track. Mr. Cassidy is at present in Washington, but it is said by a personal friend that he expected to leave for the , Coast within the next few days.
